Because of our flat business structure, we offer a mentorship program that connects employees at all levels. This six-month program empowers mentees as they develop their career steps by:

  • Growing their business knowledge relating to the Viterra structure and the ag industry
  • Participating in professional development opportunities
  • Networking and building relationships within the Viterra community

Elevate Program

Viterra’s leadership development program, Elevate, empowers high-potential leaders within our organization looking for their next steps towards a management position. Our groups of 10-12 cross-functional candidates throughout the US are nominated by executives across all departments.

These influential individuals’ complete leadership courses covering important skills necessary for management such as public speaking, business functions, and critical thinking. They also gain hands-on experience through our capstone projects that vary year to year based on current business-identified needs.

With this program running six to nine months, we’ve partnered with Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska for their expert business instructors to provide valuable insight and resources as these nominees prepare to enter the management world.

Colleagues who graduated from the Elevate program mentioned improved development of:

  • Leadership skills as they collaborate with different departments across the Viterra network
  • Strategic thinking as they learn more about Viterra and our functions
  • Time management
  • Public speaking and presentation skills
  • Executive presence exposure

To top it off, most nominees received at least one promotion within Viterra after graduating the program. Elevate program provides the incredible opportunity for our employees to grow soft skills, leadership capabilities and their management exposure towards becoming the executive or director they’re meant to be.

Educational Assistance Program

For colleagues looking to pursue an academic degree or certification as they advance their ag career, Viterra provides an Educational Assistance Program to minimize student loans and optimize professional learning. This allows our people to continue working with us as they complete classes to improve their current role or prepare for a future role with Viterra. Upon approval, full-time employees may potentially receive up to 100% reimbursement for their selected courses.  By learning from the best in the field, our people will strengthen their skillset, build their confidence and grow their passion for their field within Viterra.

WLC is run by a Board of Directors and hosts numerous events and programs both men and women can get involved in throughout the US and Mexico region throughout the year.

We also look ahead with our Viterra Young Professionals Program (VYP). As an ERG, VYP is dedicated to building an extensive internal and external network for the emerging talent of Viterra, emphasizing collaboration, culture, and opportunity, while investing in professional growth. VYP participants will be able to attend conferences, lunch and learns and expand Viterra’s representation throughout our local communities. This organization launched early 2024 at Viterra US headquarters with an aim to extend its opportunities beyond the corporate office as it continues to grow.
